Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and Disney will be joining forces to refresh the Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios. In honor of this partership, TCM will be airing Treasures from the Disney Vault. The premiere night is Sunday, December 21st at 8pm ET. Start a family tradition with holiday and winter animatied shorts "Santa's Workshop", "On Ice" and "Chip An' Dale".
Following the shorts will be the From the Vault movies, so set the DVR since these movies go all night and into the morning!
- The Disneyland Story-It's 1954 and Walt himself is describing all the exciting plans for Disneyland which will open the following year.
- The Reluctant Dragon-Disney's 1941 film that combined a live action tour of Walt Disney Studios with animated shorts.
- Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier-OK be honest, the song popped up in your head didn't it?
- The Vanishing Prairie-The first three episodes will be shown of this 1954 nature documentary which was part of Disney's True Life Adventure Series.
- Third Man on the Mountain-A 1959 rarely seen tale about a young man who honors his father by ascending the highest peaks in his Swiss village. Which was known as the Matterhorn.
- The Perilous Assignment-A documentary about the making of Third Man on the Mountain.
TCM and Disney will air Disney classics and Wonderful World of Color specials several times throughout the year, so keep an eye on Disney Devoted for the heads up! Check your local listings, as times and schedule subject to change.
