What's New for 2016?


Disney released their packages for 2016 and with it some changes.  Of course, your Snapshot Getaways agent is always there to help you muddle through the small print.  Here are the basics:
  • Courtesy Holds are shortened from 7 days to 3 days in 2016.
  • Final Payment is due at 30 days out from your trip in 2016, compared to 45 days.  There are no fee's made for changes or cancellations made before then (Add-on options like insurance and party tickets have different policies)
  • Magic Your Way Packages now include:
    •  4 Mini Golf passes (before 4pm) to Disney's Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland Golf Courses.
    • 4 vouchers to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
    • 10% Discount at Splitsville Luxury Lanes with no time/day restrictions.
    • 15% Planet Hollywood Discount.
Disney has eliminated several of the discounts available with the Magic Your Way packages, including discounts for spa treatments, marinas, disney tours, and horseback trail rides.  No longer will you receive an arcade card or 2 DisneyQuest vouchers.

Disney Cruise Line Returns to the Big Apple


If you live near the New York City area, mark your calendars for October 2016.   Disney Cruise Line is doing a set of cruises during that month, departing from the New York port.  This is huge savings if you are able to drive to the area instead of flying to Florida.  Here's hoping the cruises do well and Disney continues to consider New York a departure port!

The Details:
  • There will be one Canadian Coastline sailing on October 2, 2016 which is proving to be very popular.  This 5 night cruise on the Disney Magic has stops in St. John and Halifax and is round trip from New York.  Sample pricing for a family of 4 in an Oceanview stateroom begins at $4,022.
  • Looking for the Caribbean?  All month long the Disney Magic will be sailing from New York to the Bahamas with stops at Nassau and Castaway Cay.  Along the way a port stop in Port Canaveral gives guests the option to go to Disney World for the day with a 1 day parkhopper ticket and transportation to the park.  Sample pricing for a family of 4  in an Verandah stateroom begins at $7,400.

  • Western Caribbean Itineraries — Explore glorious Western Caribbean stops on cruises from Miami and Port Canaveral.
  • Eastern Caribbean Itineraries — Disney Fantasy will sail from Port Canaveral, Florida to the Eastern Caribbean with stops in—Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
  • Bahamian Itineraries — Disney Cruise Line will sail from Port Canaveral and Miami to the Bahamas on a variety of itineraries. All of these cruises include a stop at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.
