A Morning at the Fishing Hole: Disney Style

Recently I spent a pre-cruise night at Port Orleans with my husband and two sons.  Our Disney Cruise Line bus was not arriving until lunchtime and we didn't have time to go to the parks.  So we went to the Fishing Hole at Port Orleans Riverside.  Located next to the Muddy Waters Swimming Area, we were set up in a quiet little nook with a beautiful view.  The kids were given an old-fashioned cane pole and a cup of bait.  Yup, real worms!  The boys then gave it a try for bit, although we were told an otter had scared a lot of the fish away that morning.  The fishing there is catch and release, but alas we did not catch.  We had fun on a beautiful morning and were ready to head to the lobby for our bus to the Disney Dream.

The cost for the pole, bait and dock time is $12.50 per family (up to 6 people) or $ 4 per individual with a 30 minutes time frame.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, although the adult does not need to have a fishing pole.  The dock is typically open from 7:45 am-1:45 pm with the last poles handed out at 1:15pm.
